Karon Kay Christenson passed away peacefully on January 6 from natural causes. Our Mom was always joyous and vibrant .  She was fiercely independent, creative, caring, compassionate, and beautiful. Karon effected many lives with her nurturing, positivity, encouragement, and ability to listen.  She truly had a gift with her perceptions and unique views in how she saw the world.  She was a fashionista and had a style all her own.  She loved the sun, bright colors (her favorite was yellow), pretty flowers, and humor. Most importantly,  Karon loved her sisters, her sons, and her family and friends dearly.  She had a huge heart.  She has a twin sister named Sharon and they went on some wild life adventures together. She devoted her life to her 3 sons and showered them with love.  She was preceded by her mother and father, Anna and Ervin Weispfenning.  She’s survived by her sisters, Sharon Weispfenning, Sandy Christopherson, Ginny Peterson, and Donna Weispfenning, along with their awesome husbands, and a bunch of cool cousins and their kids.  She’s also survived by her oldest son “Mr Big Shot” Jason Christenson(Amanda) and his 2 daughters Makena, and Macie, and her middle son “The Favorite” Justin Christenson (Carla), and their son, Logan, and her “Adorable" youngest son, Josh Christenson, and his daughter, Lily, and son Jack.  I think everyone would agree that it was a blessing to have her in our lives.  As her sister, Donna, said it best, “she’s sprinkling glitter down on us from heaven”.  I speak for my brothers, Jason, Josh, and myself that we loved our Mom with everything single ounce of love we had in our hearts and we are devastated right now. But the way that we’ll soothe this hurting is by continuing to honor her legacy of spreading joy, creativity, and unconditional love to the people around us.  What she gave to her boys is remarkable.

After Covid lifts there will be a memorial for her in the Twin Cities. TBD.  Her body will be laid to rest in Moorhead, Minnesota near her Mom and Dad.
