

Mrs. Elvera Ortiz-Garcia
Mrs. Elvera Ortiz-Garcia 93 of Kansas City, KS passed Friday, September 6, 2019, at Olathe Health Hospice, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Kansas City, KS where she met and married Frank Garcia whom she is preceded in death. Also preceded in death by her parents Refugio and Refugia Ortiz, sisters, Soledad Ortiz, Genavieve Ortiz and Lydia Medina and brothers, Paul Ortiz and Carlos Ortiz. She is survived by her son, Carlos O. Garcia and six grandchildren: Jacinta Lopez, Anna Lopez Twitty, Carlos O Garcia Jr, Refugia Garcia, Alejandro Garcia, and Ricardo Garcia and twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Elvera retired from Automatique vending but worked her entire life in the family restaurant, La Hacienda in Armourdale, where she was known for her silver dollar tortillas.
In addition to her immediate family, she will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered for her family devotion and her quick and wicked sense of humor.
Services were held at Redemptorist Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo on Friday, September 13th with visitation beginning at 8:30 a.m. followed by mass at 9:00 a.m. and then interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, KS.
