Thelma May (Lehmann) Seddon 82, passed away quietly at her Olathe home of 33 years on March 17, 2021. She will be buried near her mother, Esther Lehmann, in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton, KS.  Memorials are being planned for the near future.

     She was born in Reno, KS on September 22, 1938 to her parents Cletus Sr. and Esther Lehmann. She was their middle child of five.

     Thelma was preceded in death by her parents Cletus Sr. and Esther (Murphy) Lehmann and by her brother Cletus Lehmann Jr.

     She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Alvin E. Seddon; her daughter Beth (Rev. Jack) Busby and her son Mark Seddon. She is also survived by granddaughter Sarah (Rev. Wesley) Cooper, and her great-granddaughter Elizabeth Cooper. Thelma is also survived by her brother Franklin Lehmann, her sister Joan (Bernard) Ford, her sister Georgia (Alan) Oehrle and a host of nieces and nephews.

      After graduating from high school, Thelma earned a degree as an LPN and nursed many people in Kansas City and the surrounding areas.

     She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, loving all her family and friends with the pure love of the LORD Jesus Christ. Thelma relied on prayer for everything, always reminding people to pray in all things. She was always an active member of whatever church she attended working wherever she was needed from cleaning bathrooms, to nursery care, to organizing ladies’ prayer and visitation ministries.

     God was always first in Thelma’s life. This was very evident in her life of integrity, generosity, and interactions with all people.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Seddon’s name may be made to Victory Baptist Church in Olathe, KS.
